We're almost there, people! Halloween is this Saturday! I can't wait to take you all trick-or-treating. Is everybody ready? I hope so...
I'm going to bed in a few minutes, so I'm going to keep this brief.
My favorite thing about going trick-or-treating was the chance of getting a FULL SIZED candy bar! Preferably a Snickers or Butterfinger, but a Baby Ruth was acceptable as well. I LOVED getting dressed in my costume and feeling like a I became another person! Lots of fun!
My least favorite thing about trick-or-treating was having to wear a warm coat or jacket OVER my costume! My Mom made me do it! She didn't understand that Superman doesn't NEED to wear a coat! Cowboys don't wear jackets! Ninjas don't wear raincoats! Mom didn't care; she said that boys who wear warm coats don't catch colds, and if I wanted to go out trick-or-treating I'd have to wear a coat! Aaaaaaaagh!!!! (So, I did).
Another thing: take a pillow case as your candy bag. It's easier to carry and it can hold more loot!
See you Friday night.
Love,
Dad

3 Days Until Halloween!
Hallo!
I hope you are all enjoying a wonderful week! How much snow is on the back lawn? It snowed here today for a short time. "They" say that it will snow quite a lot tonight.
Anyway, I just got off the phone with Owen, who told me that he got a library card today! Congratulations, Owen. Use it as often as you can!
As you all know, Halloween is only three days away. I hope you have all made your final decisions on costumes. If Mama has used her sewing machine on your costume (Livie!) you have made your final decision. If you're name is Mary and you fit into the chicken costume made famous by Owen, you have made your final decision. If you have a red wig and devil horns stuffed under your bed, you have made your final costume decision (Mama). If you have removed the tags from your ninja costume, you have made your final decision (Owen). Gracie, I am not sure what our costumes will be... are you?
Time for ni' night.
Love,
Spooky Papa

Manic Monday
Hallo!
I am so very pleased to be in the motel room and writing to my family! Each of you occupy a very special place in my heart. I can't imagine a life without Gracie, Livie, Owie, Merry, and Mommy. I am filled with joy when I see you. Somebody up there likes me.
We were sooo busy today that I didn't get to eat lunch! Can you guess how grumpy I was? If you guessed "super-duper grumpy", you are correct!
I'm waiting for my dinner to cool off as I write these words; in a few short minutes I'll be super-duper happy.
I have no family pitchers to share tonight. So... howzabout THIS:
This image is from fanpop.com... in case you were wondering.
I love my family (that's you!),

Hump Day!
What a great day! I thought we were going to be working in the rain today; instead, the weather was GRRRRRREAT! Sunshine and clean air ruled the day. We built our walls and everyone went home happy and tired.
I hope you all had a great day today. Let me know what you're up to in the comments section, if you would like.

By the way, I have a new roommate tonight; his name is Skylur, and he loves to talk and talk and talk! He is a very smart and energetic young man. I can't keep up with everything he's saying... is it because I'm too old to follow the young? What do you think?
Anyway, it's time for me to hit the sack. I'm soooooo sleepy. God bless Mama, Gracie, Livie, Owen, and Mary.
Love,
Pap

What a Day!
Hi Everyone! How are you?
Today has been a busy one! We are getting ready to pour a BIG concrete wall, and the "getting ready" part is super important, 'cause if we don't do it right, the concrete will spill out of the wall forms and make a BIG mess! So we are spending extra time double checking our work. Tomorrow afternoon we'll be all done with the walls. I can't wait!
Anyway, I heard that you all talked to Grandpa Pash on his birthday. Thank you for calling him and saying "happy birthday"! He loves you all so very much.
How is the dino egg excavation going? I had no idea that those eggs would be so challenging... don't give up! Keep digging. BE PALEONTOLOGISTS!
Alrighty then... I'm going to bed. I've included another "blast from the past" picture for our enjoyment. I love you people. God bless you.
Love,
Pappy

We've Moved... Again!
Back to the motel we went tonight. The other tough guy construction workers didn't like staying in the Martha Stewart cottage, so we are back in the super-rugged Lamplighter Motel! (Actually, two of the guys complained that the hide-a-beds were too uncomfortable, and we all need to get a lot of rest after a hard day's work... so, the Lamplighter it is!
I don't have much to say tonight. It's time for all of us to be sleeping (8:09pm) so I'll say "goodnight" and sign off in just a minute.
Tomorrow is Grandpa Pashley's birthday. I hope you will call and wish him a very happy 66th birthday! I'm sure Mama will let you use her cell phone.
I love you all soooooooooooooooooooooooo very much! Hugs, kisses, pinches, and flicks!

We Love Mama!
Good morning everyone!
I just want to remind you all that Saturday, October 17, is Mama's birthday! She's 29 years old today! Give her a big hug and kiss, and then do it again!
Who is the most beautiful woman in the world? Mama!
Who do we love more than any other person? Mama!
Who needs a birthday spanking? MAMA!!!
Get her!
Okay, now calm down. Make sure that you do lots of nice things for Mama today. Be nice. Don't whine, fight, complain, or be grumpy. That goes for you too, Mama!
Happy 29th Birthday. I will be delivering your present later this evening...
Love,
Pa

Horn Head?
Owen! While you are technically correct (Andy is not REALLY a roommate), you've got to understand that he is my favorite because he is soooo quiet! True, he is quiet because he is dead. But still! These other guys all fart and burp and talk too loudly on the phone. I can hear them in the bathroom. They stomp around like Gracie in the morning ( I love you Gracie ) and they blast the TV at night! Andy just hangs there on the wall like a good lil horn head.
Olivia, I am pleased as punch to learn that you have poached plump purple Proctor plums! Eat 'em and smile!
Alright, folks... I'm super sleepy. Off to bed goes Pappy, he's gettin' sorta slappy.
Gimme a dime, I made a rhyme
I'm a poet, and I know it
I don't buy garlic, I grow it
Love,
Pap

We've Moved...
Hi Family,
The company rented us a house and we moved in tonight. It is very cozy and nice... better than a motel. My roommates let me take a picture of them tonight, and I'm including them in this post.
This is Phil... he's a little older than me, and he plays guitar. I like him!
...
This is Robert... he is sort of like one of the monsters in "Where the Wild Things Are", except wayyyy smellier (even after a shower). He's also an inventor!
...
This is Jared... he's the youngest guy in the house (25), and also the tallest (10 feet).
...
And finally, this is Andy. He's an antelope head. He's the quietest roommate of all!
...
Well, its bedtime for Pops; I will see you all soon. God bless you and keep you safe!
Love,
Da'

Super Toozday!
Hey Everyone!
I heard that you lil folks visited Arla and the Palmers while Mama went to class tonight. Did you have fun? I hope so!
It was a great day here in Vernal. We poured 150 cubic yards of concrete and made it look really nice! 150 cubic yards is enough to cover our front yard, back yard, and the space our house occupies. It's a LOT of concrete! Anyway... we got 'er done.
When are we gonna have a dinosaur weekend? Livie? I think you should be the organizer of this event. Let's make it happen!
I'm off to bed. Love you so much.

Busy Busy Busy!
Hello family!
Well, today was a busy day. I woke up at 2:01am after Mama tickled my bum with her foot (my alarm clock woke her up). I got out of bed at 2:30am or so after it became clear that Mama would not be tickling me anymore. After a quick breakfast I hit the road and drove 186 miles to get to work! I stopped once for coffee near the Tardif's ranch in Duschene, and once again so that a family of desert elves could cross the road...
ANYway, we worked and worked from 7:00am until 6:30pm tonight! It took a loooonnnng time to check in to our motel (same one as last week), and I've just sat down to write after showering off the dirt and dust from the day. It is 8:17pm, and you all should be asleep! Grace, Olivia, and Owen should at LEAST be in bed, and Mama and the Bear should be snugglin' in the Mama Bear cave down in the basement. I hope you all are comfy cozy in your rooms/cave. I'm getting ready to hit the sack as well. We're going to be rully busy tomorrow morning and I need to sleep so I'll be well rested for the challenges of the day.
I hope you all enjoyed Nana's visit; she loves you all so very much. She would LOVE to get a "Thank you for visiting!" card from the Utah grandchirren. Maybe you all could work on that some evening this week?
Well, it's time to say ni' night: "Ni' Night".
I love you all,
Pa

Math Quiz!
Okay people... I've got a short math quiz for you all (even YOU, Mama). Owen, you may work alone or with Mama, Gracie, or Livie... Mary, you're on your own!
Here's the quiz:
Papa worked from 3:30am Monday until 6:30pm Monday. He worked from 7:00am until 6:30pm on Tuesday and Wednesday. How many hours had Papa worked so far this week?
Bonus question: If you subtract 1/2 hour for lunch each day, for how many hours will Papa be paid?
Post your answers as comments on this blog page. I will check them in the evening on Thursday.
I hope you are all feeling 100% GREAT. Please give each other a hug 'n' kiss from me, m'kay? M'kay. God bless you!
Love and smoochies,
Pa

Dino Eggs?
Hi everybody! I hope you all had a good night's sleep! I enjoyed speaking to each of you last night...
Mama? Olivia and Grace and I spoke about a Dinoland Road Trip the weekend after your birthday. We think it sounds like a good idea, don't you? Maybe you could call Ant Rock-L and inquire about her schedule? M'kay...
Guess what I found today? That's right! A DINOSAUR EGG! At least, it looks like a dino egg. Actually, it may be just a round stone. But it looks like a dino egg! I'll bring it home and you can decide. I'll keep my eyes open for more prehistoric treasures.
I miss you all so very much.
God bless and have a great day!
Love,
Pop Star

Vernal is Dinosaur Land!
Hey kids! Did you know that Vernal is DINOSAUR COUNTRY? I didn't! (Mama prolly did, and didn't tell me so that I would be surprised... tait-yeew maMA!)
Anyways, there are dinosaurs everywhere around the town. They're fakes, of course, but still. The real dinos are fossilized types; Vernal is overflowing with dino fossils. Pretty cool... I'm thinking a family road trip to Vernal is in our future. "Bone" up on your dinosaur knowledge, and get ready for a prehistoric weekend of Jurassic proportions (or Mesozoic, or whatever)!
I vaguely promised pictures for tonight's posting; well, I don't think that's gonna happen. At least not any pics of the rest of the crew. They're all pretty cranky, tired, and smelly. I think I'll let them have some quiet time. I have included a coupla pics of good ol' Pop. Aren't I a handsome fellow? This is me at home trying pack and get to bed before 9pm... didn't happen.
I'll try to sneak some pictures of the project we're working on, but the plant operators are sort of jumpy about people taking pictures of their super-secret facility. IF I get a few pics uploaded, destroy them IMMEDIATELY after viewing them! We don't want those pics to end up in the hands of the enemy (whomever he/she is).
Here's a pic of me talking to Mama tonight!
Here are a few pictures of the Weston Lamplighter Motel. Very nice place, as you can see.

Uh, oh... who's THIS guy?
Well, I guess I'm in the wrong room... maybe I should sign off and find my way back to room 227. Until tomorrow!

Testing... One, Two, Three...
Hello Mama and kiddles! I'm just checking to make sure we're connected. The next time you hear from me I'll be in Vernal, Utah! I'll make sure to let you know what we're up to, who "we" are, and how things are going on the job and after work.
I am going to miss you all so much. I know that you will all be good while I'm away, and that you'll ALWAYS listen to your Mama. Make sure to help out with tidying up the living room and kitchen... Mama will be sooooooo impressed!
I love you all. See you on Friday!
Love,
Papa
